Question: Help! How can I best treat a sunburn that had water blisters, but is now a raw area of red skin!?
5 days ago, I spent most all day at the beach!. I'm fair-skinned (freckle) and always seem to burn in at least one spot eventhough I slather on sunscreen!. This time it was my neck -- a 4 x 6 inch section!. Water blisters developed and they popped open yesterday!. Now, I have this area of raw, very red, painful skin!. It also seems swollen!. I've treated the area with Neosporin and taking Ibuprofen several times!. Yet, it is still not healing!. What should I do!? Please, refrain from the negative comments about preventing this in the first place!. I've learned my lesson and now just need advice on how to deal with this before infection sets up!. The area is already very tender to touch even on the unaffected skin around it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In addition to neosporin, make sure you bandage it as well to keep dirt and bacteria out!.

Don't use a wash cloth when washing it!.!.!.it will be too rough and hurt like a B!@#$!. Run cool water over it though!. Ice packs on it helps relieve it as well!. Try taking Aleve instead of ibuprofen!. Make sure you drink LOTS AND LOTS of water because it is going to dehydrate you!. If it isn't getting better by Friday, see a doctor ASAP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aloe Vera lotion and neosporin!! I too am fairly fair skinned and you are going to need a very high spf if you want this to not happen again!. it is hard to find but something above spf 15 and if you use tanning oil do not use it untill you have a very good tan going other wise that too will burn the heck out of you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
