Question: Does getting blood drawn hurt!?
Im thinking about getting that Accutane stuff for my acne, but I have to get monthly blood tests!. How bad does it hurt!?!? Does it hurt for long!?!? Will it leave a painful bruise!?!? Im a skinny 15 year old female, so could it possibly make me dizzy!?!? Any info would be great!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im not even that skinny, but everytime i give blood i get dizzy and they make me wait until i recover!.!.!.!.
aside from blood drawn issues, acutane does crazy stuff to your body!. and also it really alters your hormones which would not be good for a fifteen year old girl!.

It's not too bad!. Your arm will probably get a little numb durinf the process, and you might feel dizzy after, but drink a glass of orange juice when you're done, and eat something with a lot of iron, like spinach!. (Like a spinach and strawberry salad with a glass of o!.j!.)
It's best not to look at it, it might make you faint!. Just look away!. It doesn't really hurt very much!. Initially, you feel a prick, and it hurts a little for the first 5 seconds, but that's it!.

It depends on who is taking it!. Make sure they are not "new at this" and they have some experience!. I have more often than not had bad experience with "newbies"!. Although once no one could get an IV in me (and I had been stuck about 10 times) and I was getting ready to have surgery and they had the Doctor well the Anesthesiologist came in and put the IV in!. She damned near lost her teeth because I swear she was using a dagger in my arm and she had no bedside manner!. I would never hit a women but she came close!. I swear to God she was going to run that needle through the other side of my arm!. She kept blaming me for the reason the IV wouldn't go in!. My veins rolled, they were small, they were too deep!. Well how is that my fault!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
It is not bad at all!. Waiting for them to draw it is the worst thing of it all!. It feels like someone pinched you very lightly!. You will be fine!. Drink a lot of water on the day you get it drawn, this will help with the dizzyness!. And don't hold your breath you might faint!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I don't use Accutane!.!.cuz I don't have it that bad!.!.!.but all I know is that when u get blood drawn it only hurts for the few seconds its happening!.!.!.and it also hurts when ur waiting for it to happen!.!.!.just don't think about it hurting when ur gonna go do it!.!.!.and since u weigh a little bit!.!.!.or ur skinny!.!.lol!.!.!.u might be dizzy for a little while!.!.but its not likely!.!.!.so good luck!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
It depends on your pain threshhold!. It really only pinches when the needle goes in!. I agree with the person who suggested drinking lots of water first only it doesn't work if you drink it right before you go!.!.!.!.drink alot of water a few days early (or all the time lol) also!.!.!.!.i find it helps not to watch when the needle goes in!.!.!.!.good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
It sort f hurts!.!.!.but it's more like a hard pinch!. You can ask the nurse to get a speacial pak that numbs your arm (or where ever it's being drawn from) You can also ask for them to use a baby needle!. good luck ?Www@Answer-Health@Com
The last time I gave blood, the nurse missed my vein (inside elbow), and i still sometimes get sore in the same spot!.

The amount of blood that is taken for a blood test is not enough to make you lightheaded/pass out!. It doesn't really hurt!.!.!. It just kind of feels like, well, feels like blood is being sucked out of your vein!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it hurts a tiny bit for half a second when the needle goes in thats it, but you soon get used to this after a few times!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't find the study right now, but I saw a report once that indicated a needle stick hurts only as much as you think it wil hurt!. Basically, if you're afraid of the needle and afraid it's going to hurt, it hurts!. If you don't think it's going to hurt and you're not afraid, it won't hurt!.
