Is sodium good or bad for you? Why?!

Question: Is sodium good or bad for you!? Why!?
Answers:
The people that have given you answers here so far are not experts and have no clue as to what they are saying!. Sodium is a necessary mineral the body needs!. In fact, the body needs all minerals!. The quantity is the real issue!. Some elements are found in trace amounts in nature and the body only needs trace amounts of these elements to be healthy!. A good example is arsenic!. Too much of that will kill you, but your body needs small, trace amounts of it to be healthy!. It is found in lima beans for instance!. So if you were to consume huge amounts of lima beans you could technically die from that!. However, nature is pretty smart!. It would take a huge amount of lima beans to do that to you!.

Sodium is found in salt and it is an excellent way for the body to get sodium, as well as chloride!. The chloride ion (Cl-) found in salt is where the body gets the CL in HCL for making your stomach acid in the parietal cells found in the lining of your stomach!.

There has never been a scientific study that shows eating salt will raise your blood pressure!. That is a total myth and simply not true!. Sodium and Potassium generate the sodium / potassium pumps that take fluids into and out of your cells!. There needs to be a balance of these substances in your body for health!.

Salt, in it's natural form, not only contains the sodium and chloride ions, but electrolytes that are necessary for good heart function and good adrenal function!. These low salt diets are very destructive and damaging to the body!. However, having said that, the typical salt you buy in the Mausoleums where dead food is held in state (grocery store), is terrible for you!. That Morton Salt junk for instance is made by heating the salt to about 1,100 degrees, all the electrolytes are removed and then chemicals added to keep the salt flowing in wet weather!. Complete junk!. The chemicals in that junk is typically aluminum based and is a heavy metal you want to avoid!.

"Air dried sea salt" is the best salt!. It contains the electrolytes and is good for you!. If you have a baby with craddle cap, for instance, 5 days of 1 teaspoon of this salt will fix it!.

To properly hydrate yourself and get the right amount of electrolytes, you should take 1/4 teaspoon of air dried sea salt with each quart of water you drink!.

If you don't get enough salt, your adrenal glands will not work right and you can become fatigued!. The proper amount of water you need to drink is as follows:

Take your total body weight and divide by 2!. That number is the amount of water in ounces that you need to drink each and everyday!. If you drink ANY diuretic drinks like, sodas, coffee, tea, alcohol, commercially prepared fruit drinks, energy drinks, etc!., these all dehydrate you and you will need to add more water to the total to compensate for the water loss due to these diuretic drinks!. Take the total ounces of the diuretic drinks and multiply by 1!.5 and add that total to the original total to come up with the proper amount of water you need to drink each day!.

So as you can see, if you weigh 200 pounds, you should be drinking 100 ounces of water!. Since there are 32 ounces of water in a quart, that would mean you should be eating about a little over 3/4 teaspoons of air dried sea salt each day!.

I find that most people need to become more educated on health, not by listening to the so called "food experts" that are nothing more than "hired guns" of the food industry corporations that are trying to sell you a pile of junk and relying on your ignorance of what good and bad food is!.

good luck to youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Most of us are overloaded with sodium (table salt is sodium chloride) as salt is added to lots of processed foods for flavour!.

Too much sodium can give you many health problems such as high blood pressure and stacks of others!. The less salt you eat the better as a sodium deficiency is virtually unheard of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your body needs some level of sodium!. It's used in ionic (charged) form for use in communication between your nerve cells!. Specifically, some types of chemicals released between these cells, known as neurotransmitters, allow sodium into the cell, where a charge differential can start (sodium ions are positively charged, but nerve cells are, overall, negatively charged)!. The depolarization effect causes another part of the cell to release neurotoxins to the next cell in the chain!. Along the way, sodium is allowed into the cell to strengthen and renew the charge!. This is a huge oversimplification, but you get the idea: you need sodium to have your nerve cells work!.

It's also used to absorb some of the nutrients that our bodies extract during digestion!. Finally, salt (which has sodium) retains water for our cells to use!. It is absolutely essential to have some sodium in your diet!.

Too much sodium can be extremely unhealthy!. Because sodium retains fluid, there is a link between sodium and high blood pressure (think about it!.!.!.more fluid in the same amount of enclosed space)!. High blood pressure can lead to heart disease, kidney problems, and stroke!.

Sodium also affects the motion of the arterioles, which are blood vessels that contract and expand in order to aid blood flow, lowering their effectiveness!. Because of this, there's more resistance to blood flow, which makes the heart have to work harder!. This not only wears down the heart muscle, but, again, increases pressure in the blood vessels!.

EDIT:
Read onlymatch's response!. Here's one abstract available to the public:

There are more!. I would agree if he said that the link between salt intake and hypertension is controversial and debatable, but to say that no scientific study has supported a link is flat out incorrect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sodium is a stone!. Look at your landscape outside!. Do you see any stone!? How much do you want in your body!?

Salt is a stone!. To be more specific, it is a waxy stone!.

It mucks up your blood flow, like wax in a water flow!.

Imagine the tax on your heart!.

This is not a difficult question to answer, but it is good that you asked!.

Edit1: All these doctors have all the answers, don't they!? A thousand (+) words, they say the same thing I've said!.

I answered this question in defense to the diet forced on you by corporate America!.

I think you can understand me quite plainly!. No more words!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
