Question: Ulcerative colitis!.!.!. anybody have it and how to deal with it!!?
I was diginosed with uncerative colitis about 4 weeks ago!.!.!. my doc gave me a diet and meds to take and they worked for a while a good 2 in a half weeks a felt so good!. Over the last week or so ive been going downward having all the same problems i had when i wasnt on meds and diet!. I am still following the diet and taking the meds but idk what the problem is !. I guss im having a flar up!? how should i solve this!?!?!!? i go to the doc again next week but im not sure if i should call him not or not !. Please someone tell me how you deal with it if you have ulcerative colitis!. Thanx alot!Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi discuss, i have crohn's disease which is a type of inflammatory bowel disease like UC!. Have you checked out the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's site!? they have tons of information ranging from diet, the latest meds to treat UC, surgery, coping skills, as well as locating a local support chapter near you!. They have a hotline & a live chat during the week that is run by healthcare experts well versed in IBD!. They also have a forum where pts!. and their family members can post questions to others in the same situation!.
I was 12 when I was dxed and had my first surgery at the age of 17!. Two weeks later I turned 18!. It's been 28 yrs!. now surviving this disease but we've come a very long way from just steroids!.

i would for sure call the doctor!. he needs to know the situation before you actually see him!. you may have to wait on hold for a bit but it will be worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
