Question: 19 year old with pain/pressure in chest, neck and throat!?
I'm pretty young so i was worried when i started feeling a heavy pressure and pain in my chest and neck/throat a couple months ago!. since then, ive experienced this about 3 or 4 times!. sometimes it feels like the sensation is also in the sides of my head!. when i bend over the pressure/pain greatly intensifies!. i wouldn't call the pain extreme, it's tolerable, but it is VERY uncomfortable!. its like im walking around with this intense pressure!. i work at a medical lab and i asked a physician assistant and she said its prob anxiety!. the past couple years i have been experiencing a lot of anxiety but the pressure doesnt come when im experiencing any stress or anxiety!. i always thought the anxiety i experienced was normal for a lot of teenage girls but if it's starting to manifest itself this way, i obviously have to do something before it progressively gets worse into full blown panic attacks!. ive recently been struggling with decisions about school/career, could this be why!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely!! It can creep up without you even realizing what is about to hit you!. That is what it sounds like to me too!. I would suggest talking to that P!.A!. for some Valium or other antianxiety medication!. It does not mean that you have to take it all the time!. It is a medication that you take when you start to feel this way and it does wonders for you!. It just relaxes you completely and those sensations will diminish!. You really need to get checked out by your PCP!. It could be anxiety (which causes tons of symptoms/signs), but it could also be indicative of a much bigger problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are many reasons why this could happen to anybody!. But you are too young to be anything major!. It is probably just anxiety!. There are easy tips to relieve anxiety!.!.!.!.

Keep a positive attitude!.
Accept that there are events that you cannot control!.
Be assertive instead of aggressive!. Assert your feelings, opinions, or beliefs instead of becoming angry, defensive, or passive!.
Learn and practice relaxation techniques; try meditation, yoga, or tai-chi!.
Exercise regularly!. Your body can fight stress better when it is fit!.
Eat healthy, well-balanced meals!.
Learn to manage your time more effectively!.
Set limits appropriately and say no to requests that would create excessive stress in your life!.
Make time for hobbies and interests!.
Get enough rest and sleep!. Your body needs time to recover from stressful events!.
Don't rely on alcohol, drugs, or compulsive behaviors to reduce stress!.
Seek out social support!. Spend enough time with those you love!.
Seek treatment with a psychologist or other mental health professional trained in stress management or biofeedback techniques to learn more healthy ways of dealing with the stress in your life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
