when they say that you should pour some olive oil into your ear when you have earache!.!.!.do they actually mean the olive oil you use to cook with!?
just seems a bit strange to put cooking oil in your ear , no!?

Olive oil softens the wax!. That may be sufficient to ease the ache, but it is also advised to soften the wax before you have it syringed, and olive oil is a very cheap, convenient and simple way to do just that!.
Other vegetable oils have the same effect, but olive oil is a bit more pleasant than soya or sunflower oil!.
Btw!., Olive oil is not simply cooking oil, it is also a food dressing, but the virgin olive oil has a better flavour when it matters!. The cheaper non-virgin oil is quite adequate for softening earwax!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes - the olive oil you cook with!.
It is very gentle & generally very pure!. It will not harm and can get into your ear and loosen up any wax!.
Olive is also a mild disinfectant (lucky they don;t taste like most of the disinfectants I know about!!!) so it can help with any infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should not put anything in your ear , unless you have been advised to do so by a doctor!. Warm camphorated oil,rubbed behind the ear can cause relief,but ear trouble should always be checked by your G!.P!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
yes, thats right!. is recommended by practise nurses!. i have recently used it to clear wax, worked a treat!. no need for ear syringing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Extra virgin sunflower olive oil does the trick-it helps clear the wax from a blocked ear OR u can buy ear-drops from any chemist but both serve the same purpose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yes they do mean olive oil but it needs to be clean and warm!. The warm oil is supposed to melt the wax!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
