Answers:
That is not a gross question!. You have a very real and valid concern!. It is possible to postpone or keep your period from starting next month, but you really need to talk with your doctor about it!. If you were to go ahead and start on birth control pills now (unless you're already on them), then when you get to the week of pills in your pack that are a different color where you would normally then start your period because those are just "sugar pills" and don't contain any hormone!.!.!.!.you would not take those pills but start on a new pack of pills and just keep taking the "active" pills!.!.!.!.not the inactive ones!. That way, you would not start your period!. But your doctor will need to give you a prescription for bc pills and you may have other medical conditions or reasons he/she doesn't think you should be taking them!. You could continue taking the pills that way until you get up and about and are able to take care of yourself again!.

If bc pills are not an option for you, then first of all, don't worry about being on your period during the surgery!. Just tell the nurses and they can place a pad on you and use disposable underpads underneath you even without underwear!. This is common and the nurses are used to that!. Maybe you'll be in the hospital the whole time your having your period!? If so, don't worry!. Yes, it's a hassle and maybe embarrasing for you, but I can assure you that the nurses are used to women having their monthly cycles and they can help you out!. If you're going home and still on your period, are you going to have someone helping you out, especially going to the bathroom, etc!.!? I'm sure you will definitely need some assistance, so just be sure and line someone up to help (mother, sister, good friend, etc)!. I bet they won't mind helping you!. Just keep stuff handy at your bedside with disposal bags, too, and you can probably handle much of it yourself!. Use baby wipes, etc!. to help you feel clean!.

I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope you get better real soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just tell them!.!. or even call the day before and let them know they might give you some tips!.!.

good luck and best wishes!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow!. I'm sorry but this has happened to me during like my 5th back surgery and it wasnt even my expected date! but anyway although ur naked they can still put a pad on u and ur not moving during the surgery so its not that big of a deal!. but when they get done, which is probably when ur period will come cause surgery just messes up the whole body processing because the anesthia slows down the internal functions, but thats when they'll just put some panties on with a HUGE pad (its not that big)!. and dont worry about laying in bed for like a week with your period because proabably by the next day they will get you up and moving!. although it'll be painful once the morphine drip ends, you really won't care about your period, after back surgery ur going to be tired and beat so it might seem like a big deal now but it really wont be, the doctors and nurses are professionals and have seen it all :) Just wondering but what kind of surgery are you getting!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
