These answers all seem even more painful than an ingrown toenail!

I also suffer from ingrown toenails!. They are frequent if you tend to have fleshy toes (my toes are kind of fat), or if you wear a lot of narrow toed shoes (especially true for women with high heels)!.

According to the Mayo Clinic, try to let your toenails grown longer!. That way, the sharp corners that are ingrown will push themselves out!. Cutting your nails shorter will actually cause more pressure on the nail!.

In the meantime, soak your feet once or twice a day in a sitz bath and try a product called "Outgrow!." You can get it over the counter at the drugstore, and it is basically a topical numbing agent which will make you feel better!.

Good luck! :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I started having problems with this when I was in karate a while back!. The solution (ultimately) was to have the roots burned out on the edges of my toenails so that they didn't grow back in!. Now I have narrower toenails but the problem's gone!. The procedures (I had 3 done) took about 30 minutes, and were relatively painless!. The follow-ups were slightly more painful, but nothing too bad!.

The doctor insisted on trying to just cut them back the first few times, but they always just grew right back in ingrown!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it will hurt like crazy but you have to cut them, find a cuticle cutter, its a lot easier to cut the corners with them!. Make sure that everytime you cut your toe nails you always cut the sides, it will help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If painful , and infected there is only one treatment Wedge surgery of the toe nailWww@Answer-Health@Com

Trim your toenails at an angle on the sides!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
