How does lexapro make you gain weight?!
Question: How does lexapro make you gain weight!?
I have been on my lexapro for 10 days now!. I have read horror stories about how it causes you to gain weight!. I was wondering if it is from making you want to eat more, or if it slows down your metabolism!? I am on it for anxiety and a lot of my anxiety is from gaining 10 pounds after college! If it makes me gain more I dont see how it will help the anxiety! !.!.!.!.Thanks for you help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, don't believe everything you read!. I know it can be scary when you're taking a new drug, especially when you're anxious to begin with!
Most of the females in my family are on this drug, it works well for us!. I did NOT gain any weight at all and neither did the 6 other women I'm related to who are on it!. In fact, I started feeling so much better that I was able to get out and excersize more!.!.!.so I lost weight!
Everyone is different!. The bottom line here is this: you have to get your head to a point where an extra ten lbs won't bother you!. I'm sure you're beautiful no matter what you weigh!. Love those extra ten pounds like there is no tomorrow!. Rent Phat Girlz or the remake of Hairspray if you wanna watch something that promotes BIG IS BEAUTIFUL!.

People gain weight on it because they are more apt to relax and just eat!. If being on a diet and healthy is important to you you will not gain weight because you aren't going to let it happen!. Since I'm an emotional eater I actually eat less when I am on lexapro because I'm not so moody!. Lexapro is one of the best meds because it has the least amount of side effects!.
The drowsiness should go away in a couple of weeks!. You can try taking it at night or if that is what you are doing you can try taking it in the morning!. I prefer at night that way any side effects go away by the time I wake up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my 17 year old daughter has been on Lexapro for 2 years and has not gained an ounce! My guess is, don't believe everything you read!.
