Answers:
Both parents have to be carriers of the gene (that does not mean they necessarily "have" the disease, a carrier is a healthy individual who has one normal gene and one abnormal gene in the pair)!. If only one parent is a carrier there is no chance!. If both parents are carriers there is a 1 in 4 (25%) chance the child will have CF!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i recently read an article in a magazine about this, neither parent had it but the 2 daughters did, but not the son!.
it's caused by a defective gene, which can be passed down! - but like everything that can be passed down, it can 'skip' a generation , or two, or three!

if your concerned ask a doctor, he's the only one who can thoroughly look at your family history and tell you the odds! good luck hope everything turns out OK!! xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
