I've been taking steroids....?!
Question: I've been taking steroids!.!.!.!.!?
I have asthma and a chest infection and i also suffer from depression but I refused anit-depressants!. I went to the doctor on thursday who put me on a course of Amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day and Prednisolone 5mg which I have to take 6 times a day!. Since taking them i've beome a lot more clumbsy and have serious random mental and mood changes resulting in me becoming either very very upset and crying over spilt milk and getting stupidly angry at every small thing!.
I'm guessing its the steroids, but I'm not a 100% sure!? If it is, should i stop taking them and consult my doctor on monday or continue taking the course!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are bound to be side-affects from any treatment, its just a shame that theyre as noticeable as you've got!.
Remembering to stay calm, even talking to yourself when something bad happens!. The sound of your own voice is really comforting to a lot of people!.
If your moods get out of control, i'd ask your doctor if it's neccessary to take all the pills, because it is possible that he could let you cut back to maybe 3 or 4 a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont think it would be the steroids - possibly youre run down and premenstrual!?
Dont stop the steropids as they must be stopped slowly yes you must taske all the course and of the antibiotics too as the infecton will return with avengance!.
Steroids will increase your appetite and flush your cheeks, aLSO YOU MAY FEEL ENERGETIC BUT TRY TO REST SO THAT THE STEROIDS CAN WORK PORPERLY!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do NOT stop taking Prednisone!. You need to continue, as you can have some serious problems if you stop!. Yes, Prednisone will create those problems, as I am on it too!. It will get better, and will help the Asthma!. 5mgs 6 x a day is equal to 30 mgs!. I presume that you are on a taper!? Good Luck, and hang in there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I disagree the the above poster!.!.!.I think 30 mgs a day is enough to make you a little moody!. DONT stop taking the Prednisone until you consult with doctor!. You must be gradually withdrawn from prednisone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
