Answers:
The system is much the same for GP and hospital records!. You are entitled to see them on request!. However you have to make an appointment to do so!. You will be accompanied by a member of staff while you look at them and you cannot alter them, remove anything or deface them!. You can be charged for the time of the staff member!.

If you require any parts copied, this will be arranged but you will be charged for the copies themselves plus an administration charge!.

Either the GP or the hospital doctors can decide that a particular part of your record would be detrimental to your health to be viewed by you!. This section can then be with held!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have the legal right to know about anything that is in your medical records, as far back as November 1988 when the law was changed to make medical records accessible to the patient!.

You can't, however, get hold of anything before that date! Stupid, I know, but that's how the law stands!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you can!. You need to sign a medical records release form!. If you want a copy for yourself, they will more than likely charge you a per page fee!. Usually if you're having them transferred directly to another doctor, they will do it for free!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Tammy, assuming you are in the UK, yes you can, contact your local trust or hospital, they usually require you to make a request in writing!. You will have to complete a form and state what it is you would like to see, ie specialities and dates, when they receive this, they have 40 days in which to respond!. You can either pay to have copies or can view them free of charge in their offices!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, just ask at your surgery!. If you want hospital records (they are kept separately) you need to ask the hospital!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Contact your doctor (s)!. You will probably have to sign a release before you can obtain them, depending on the laws in your area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
