Question: A question for anyone who has had a family member who has survived a heart attack!.!.!.!?
was short term memory loss common!? i have someone in my family who had a major heart attack, the doctors said the type of clog is called the widow maker, but anyway, he is suffering from severe short term memory loss!. he needs to be constantly reminded he has had a heart attack, or else he will try to get up and walk around!. he will forget when people have visited him, he remembers us perfectly while we are with him, but if we leave for 5 minutes and come back, he will forget we were there!. is this normal for people who have suffered a major heart attack!? how long will it last!? will he ever fully recover his memory!? please give some advice from experience!. i am worried!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you sure he did not have a stroke too and it is being ignored!? Have a talk with the doctor and tell him you are not taking your father home until he finds out why this is happening and addresses the issue with treatment or therapy for your dad!. I had 100% clot age to my right side of the heart artery 6 months ago, I do not notice short term loss, but so seem to have them days I forget chit right after told, or get up to do something and forget what I was going to do, but that is nothing out of the normal for me!.!.Just depends, But I do smoke allot of herb daily, but doubt after 25 years this is a cause of short term loss either, no matter what the so called "EXPERTS" say

well, for my grandad it wasnt terribly bad so he could walk again, but for a family friend he had a heart attack that put him in ecome(not sure how its spelled) for 2 weeks and when he woke up he couldn't remember the last 20 years of his life!.!.!. and yeah he had to be reminded somone was with him or he forgets they were him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
