OK, ANY medical doctor will do!. ANY one of them will understand that the symptoms you're describing, in a normal person, warrants a decent anti-depressant, I'd recommend Wellbutrin, instead of a newer drug, because it also aids in anxiety attacks for some ppl- and add a side order of Ativan for the same, and to assist in sleeping!.

So, the problem is reoccurring, uncontrollable stress long term, creates an imbalance in the essential brain chemicals dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine!. In their proper place, they are responsible for MUCH more than how you feel, metabolically speaking, but we'll ignore that and focus on how they affect the brain!. Once they are out of sync, you are going to "feel" like it's the end of the world!. It's not reality: it's a chemical reality, so the first step to treating it, is to realize NONE of it is real, it's all in his head!. The sky is not falling!. I think he must know that, if he's seeking help already!. PMS can do the same thing to women, and it's just a side-effect of our hormones!. Luckily for us, the effect is only temporary!. In most humans, the imbalance will eventually right itself, if it's environmentally caused, but NOT if his brain just straight up is not capable of making the chemicals he needs in the proper quantities!. In some it does not right itself, or it takes too long, why suffer!? Make an appt for him with your normal care provider, she'll know what to do if you tell her what's wrong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like a visit to the doctor or a good psychiatrist may benefit your dad but maybe it's just an age thing, sometimes people just feel lost useless and depressed!. Perhaps a good night out or a holiday might help make him feel he is still worth something!.
Good luck and hope he feels better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A psychiatrist (they diagnose, then perscribe the drugs), for one, to RX him some anti-anxiety medication, like Xanax!. And a psychologist (they talk to you and work through issues), who he can talk to in order to work out his probelms!. You might even consider a neurologist (a brain doctor) if the case is severe enough, but that will be for his Primary Care Physician to decide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thats really nice and caring that you are so concerned about your dad you should definitley consult a doctor and they can hopefully give him some kind of anti depressants!Www@Answer-Health@Com
