Answers:
I smoked for about 25 years and quit 4 years ago!. You will feel "edgy" and fidgety!. You are use to using your hands for smoking, but now they are doing nothing!. Find something to keep you busy!. You will get very irritable!. Just let the people around you know that you are trying to quit smoking, and if they care about you, they will understand!. You will get hungry!. Try to keep healthy snacks around you like carrots and celery!. Drinking lots of water will help with the hunger cravings also!. You will have very strong cravings for a cigarette!. All you can do is fight through it and find something to keep your mind occupied!. Also, try to identify if any activities make the craving come on stronger, and try to avoid those if you can!.

On the plus side, the worse part of quitting is over in about a week!. It gets much, much better after that, and you really start to feel a lot better!. You wil start smelling what smokers really smell like, and realize that it stinks!. You are going to taste what food really tastes like!. And you are going to start to breath a lot better!. You may think that you breath fine now, but wait until you quit!. You'll be surprised!.

The craving never really go away!. They are no where as strong as before, and they are easy to manage, but they are always there!. Even after 4 years, I still get craving s every now and then!. I just remember what it like when I did smoke, and put the craving to the back of my mind!. After about a minute, it goes away!.

And finally, think of the money you will save!. I'm shocked at how high the price of cigarettes have gone up since I quit!. Basically, for what a carton costs now, I could fill up my car with a tank of gas!.

GOOD LUCK!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I smoked a pack a day for 36 years!. I quit "cold turkey" five years ago!.
It is not easy!. You will feel very irritable and will be constantly thinking of going out and buying a pack and thinking "I'll only have one today and one tomorrow" but that is not the solution!.
IT HAS TO BE FINAL!
Do it for the sake of your health and for the happiness of your future!. You may get married and have offspring !. Think of the impact on them if you die of a cigarette related illness!.
I hope you do it!. I'm sorry I did not do it sooner!. Just think how much money I wasted over those years that could have spent better!. Do not follow me on that course!.
Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to the doctors and tell them you have an addiction to smoking!. Say that you want to stop but you can't!. My dad had an addiction and he finally went to the doctors!. He said it was hard quitting, but worth it!. He had to wear this patch on his arm, but I'm not sure you'll have to!. I am 100% positive you can and I believe you should!. I'll pray for you that you can quit!.
Hope this helps,

I smoked for 9 years - 2 packs a day for the last few of those years- and when I quit I did it cold turkey (6 years ago)!. The first 3 days when the nicotine was leaving my system was the hardest!. I sucked lollipops every time I wanted to smoke!. I also stopped drinking coffee b/c I couldn't imagine not having a cig with my coffee!

One thing that helped was I simply refused to smoke, even when I was dying for a cigarette and even when I had a bad day!. I just reminded myself that this too would pass!.

After not smoking for 6 years I recently screwed up and had 2 cigarettes!. My baby had died (I was 9 weeks pregnant) and the pain was so bad and I thought a cigarette would calm me down!. It didn't, I just felt guilty for smoking!.

So don't smoke no matter what!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
