Question on where a person's body goes when they die?!

Question: Question on where a person's body goes when they die!?
Okay so my husband and I have a disagreement on where a person's body goes when they die!. I think that if a person dies ie old or in the hospital and there is no autopsy needed that the body goes straight to the funeral home from the hospital or scene of death!. My husband thinks that everytime someone dies no matter what circumstance that their body goes to the Medical Examiner's office!. Who is right me or him!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it all depends on the circumstances of death!. For example, in my state autopsy are performed in our state capital but I'm not really sure why there exactly!. Bodies go there if the coroner suspects foul play or there is no sensible reason why someone just dropped dead or a family can even request to have one done!. Most of the time if someone dies in a hospital for known reasons then either the nearest funeral home picks them up or they are sent to the funeral home of the family's choice!. Hope that helps a bit!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are correct, only deaths with suspicious circumstances are sent to the Medical Examiner!. Deaths at home are reported to police and if nothing suspicious found, they go directly to the funeral home!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, everyone does not go to the medical examiner's office!. You are only sent to the ME"s office if there will be an autopsy!. When you die at a hospital or nursing home, they call us and we go to where the person died and pick them up!. Take care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think Candi is correct!.!.!.my Mom died in a nursing home, they sent her to the hospital for a "holding room" I guess, then sent her on down to the funeral home!.!.!.she died of Alzheimers and was 85 so there was no reason for an autopsy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
