Most rat-poisons contain Wafarin or similar ingredients which kill by inhibiting blood-clotting (coagulation) and the rat bleeds to death from even small injuries; in humans, the effects can be the same, as even small amounts of Warfarin inhibit the action of vitamin K which is essential in the clotting process (after cuts or other hemorrhagic injury)!.
Medicines containing Warfarin are sometimes prescribed to thin the blood of patients with high blood pressure and can also be useful to treat victims of strokes,
but Warfarin can be extremely dangerous if taken accidentally!.
If you have taken anything that might contain Warfarin (rat-poison etc!.), you should see your doctor immediately or preferably
go to your nearest A&E or ER!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on how small and it depends on the poison!.
The most common is warfarin, used medicinally as an anti-clotting drug for those with heart conditions!. A lot of people use it!. As rat poison, it's mixed with bait and makes the rats hemorrhage and bleed to death internally!. They obviously get a larger dose!. Strychnine and thallium salts are pretty much a thing of the past!. They may be outlawed now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on what is in the rat poison!. There is a medicine called coumadin that is the same ingredient that is in some rat poisons and is used to thin blood!. I would contact the Poison Control Center just to be safe!.
