Question: Saw a tesco paracetamol and caffeine pack!? Isnt the combination bad for you!?
What benefits could adding caffeine to paracetamol have!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The caffeine would only be bad for you if you had some types of angina, blood pressure problems, ot heart disease!.

It is added to the paracetamol because many people take them because they have cold or flu symtoms, which often go hand in hand with a feeling of tiredness!. Caffein's a stimulant, so may make you feel a bit brighter!.

The other benefit of adding paraetamol is that manufacturers can label products as Paracetamol Plus, or Painkill Plus, or Nopain Extra - I'm deliberately not using brand names - and patients think they're getting stonger pain relief, so will pay nearly twice as much! In other words, it's a bit of a con!.

For headache, buy the cheapest supermarket paracetamol you can find - about 14p - and if you feel you'd like a caffeine hit, have a cup of hot coffee, which will also have the benefit of warming you up, lubricating your throat, and tasting nice!

If you think you're getting flu, and have muscular aches and pains, Asprin or Ibuprofen are better than paracetamol, and again, steer clear of the expensive brand names!. Nurofen, for instance, contains the same active ingredient as supermarket Ibuprofen, and if it says Plus or Extra, the addition is caffeine!. Yet it can cost ten times more!.

The combination of paracetamol and caffeine is not neccessarily bad for your health, but may well be bad for your pocket!Www@Answer-Health@Com
