Question: Stopping antibaiotics early!?
I know it's bad to not finish antibiotics, but I don't know what to do!. I am taking augmentin 3x a day for ten days!. Today is the last day!. The pills have given me a pretty bad yeast infection!. It really itches and I want to stop taking the pills!. I was taking them for a gland thing in my mout that caused my jaw to swell!. The swelling was gone after day 2 or 3!. What do you think the likelyhood is of me having issues if I stop taking them today!. It really itches!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should always finish your meds - even if you think the symptoms have cleared already!.
Yeast infections are an unfortunate side effect of antibiotics but you should finish your dose of ABs and then go buy one of those 1 or 3 day yeast treatments!. Or you could even tell your doctor and see if they will prescribe you the pill that gets rid of the infection if you don't want to use the cream!. I have always found that the Monistat treatment works much better though!.
If you stop taking the antibiotics and the swelling comes back, you'll need to start from scratch - 10 more days - so it's not worth it to stop early - trust me!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

sorry you are in pain!. scenes you are almost done with the med ask your doctor if you should finish your pills!. Also I would get to the pharmacy and purchase something over the counter for the itching!. talk with the pharmacist and get advise on which yeast infection med you need!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
