Question: Want to stop taking pain pills!?
to make a long story short i'm addicted to pain killers!.
what is the first thing i should do on the road to recovery!? please give a serious answer really need to change my life before to late!.thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know what kind of pain killers you're on, but you need to go into rehab or the hospital because it won't be easy and depending on what you're on and how high the doses are, you're going to have to taper down and you will go thru withdrawals which will be nasty!. You need to see your doctor, tell him what you're taking, how much, and that you want to get off of it and he'll know if you need to go to rehab or the Hospital!. It's great that you've recognized that you have an issue with pain killers!.
I'm not an expert in this area, nor have I ever been addicted to pain killers but I would think you would need to tell a professional!. Perhaps rehab is the way to go because from what I've heard detox is pretty bad!. Maybe going 'cold turkey' isn't the way for you - depending on what drugs you're addicted to, and the best people to know this are drug counsellors/drug rehab facilities!. I wouldn't recommend you chucking away your pain killers and trying to detox yourself!. It could turn pretty nasty pretty quickly!.

Try to go to rehab/counseling!.
The first thing you should do is get rid of all the pain killers you have!. Then refrain yourself from getting ahold of any more!. You need to stop taking them, otherwise you will end up killing yourself (im serious)/ it'll catch up to you!
You could also try substituting something else for your addiction!. This one author substituted chatting online to his fans&friends, in place of his alcoholic addiction!.

One thing that causes pains, sickness or any disease, that would cause us to take pills, is the food we eat!. Although, we could not help it sometimes to get rid of foods we eat or we love to eat, we still need to eliminate those from our diet in order to have healthier lifestyle!.

First thing to do is to eat fresh (Plant based)!. Reduce or i should say eliminate the eating of scavengers ( http://answers!.yahoo!.com/question/index!?!.!.!. ): pork, crabs!.!.!.etc!. What about fish!? It's not a swimming vegetables so i suggest not to abuse it in your meal!.

My point is, to live longer is to live better! ^_~
