This patient has a median neuropathy at the wrist as suggested by the
differential values of his distal latency, motor nerve conduction studies and confirmed by
the EMG showing abnormalities only in the adductor pollicis brevis muscles but not in the
C8 but ulnar innervated first dorsal interossei in C8 but anterior interosseous branch of
median nerve flexor pollicis longus muscle!.

Median neuropathy is the same as carpal tunnel syndrome!. The median nerve is being compressed, usually because of a narrowing in the space that it goes by, by the transverse carpal ligament!.
