but i have heard you usually get a penicllin shot in your butt!. why do some people get them in their butt on the day of surgery and some get a prescriptionWww@Answer-Health@Com

It might have something to do with the dentist himself/herself, or with the condition they are treating prophylactically with the medication!. It's given if someone has a history of joint replacements, surgical implants, or certain heart murmurs to prevent infection those areas!. The ones who get the shot probably have a history of endocarditis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
