Sanitary? I think not.?!

Question: Sanitary!? I think not!.!?
I have a roommate that has disgusting habits!. I have already tried asking him multiple times not to do certain things around our apartment!.

He leaves the dishes for like four weeks and leaves his mess all over!. The most disgusting thing he does other than leaving his raw bacon in the crisper with our vegetables, is rolling raw meat on his hands and opening the fridge doors with them!.

Then when he is finished rubbing the door handles down he just leaves it there for someone who is going to get a drink or anything from the fridge to get all over their hands!. I am constantly telling him not to do this because I am scared of not noticing when it dries and touching my face or something and perhaps getting sick!.

My question is, can I get sick from the raw meat I get all over my hands from his carelessness!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
yes you can get ill from this - have you ever heard of food poisoning!?!?!!
raw meat should always be kept seperate from other food, preferably at the bottom of the frisge so that juices do not drip onto other products contaminating them!. raw meat can contain all kinds of nasty things - e!.coli!. salmonella etc and can even by fatal in some people!.
you should always wash your hands after handling raw meat, and disinfect any cutting boards you have used!. ideally you would have a seperate cutting board for raw meat, one for cooked meats and one for veggies!. if you go to a restaurant they will have about 5 different chopping boards and different knives etc for different things!.
he sounds awful to be honest with you, i could not put up with that behaviour!. could you perhaps get a small fridge of your own in your room!? and definately invest in some antibacterial kithcen wipes and some anti-bac handwash!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. Handling raw meat and not washing your hands afterward can cause bacteria from the meat (which cooks out at the proper temperature) to be transferred to other surfaces that are then touched!. When someone comes behind that person and touches the same surface, they can pick up the bacteria themselves!.

If this bacteria enters the the body (such as through a small cut, or by that person putting their hand in their mouth, etc!.) this can cause illnesses such as Salmonella infections!. These illnesses can be very serious!. I would suggest you make you roommate aware of this by educating him on the facts, as he is putting his own health in jeopardy as well as those around him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes you can get sick, and possibly die depending on what type of meat!. beef is less than likely to kill you but chicken or pork has a high chanceWww@Answer-Health@Com
