Why do doctors do this?!

Question: Why do doctors do this!?
It always seems that the doctor does not care whether you are in pain or not!. I was at the hospital awhile ago because of a really big kidney stone and I was in agony, and the doctor was getting angry at me because I was crying, and he didn't seem to care at all that I was in pain!. I don't understand!. I thought the purpose of a doctor was to heal your pain and to help you, but it always seems like they don't care whether you are hurting or not!. Does it seem like that to you!? Or am I just paranoid or something!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, it does sound harsh but the doctors cannot really quantify pain, and when they see several people in a day with the same problem, and most of them do not cry it can be very difficult for them to deal with someone who is very upset - both emotionally for them as another person, but also professionally!. most doctors are good at what they do, but that does not necessarily make them "nice" people or mean that they have a good manner with people!. I would not take it personally if he was rude, i would be more bothered about whether the treatment actually worked - if it did, then he did his job ok!.
remember as well that doctors are often under a lot of pressure and have many people to see and lots of work to do!. I am not trying to make excuses for rudeness, but it is vertainly not a job i could do, and if you are wll again now i would just try and forget about itWww@Answer-Health@Com

Doctors cant get emotionally involved, or they would spend all their working day crying, they see terrible things!.

of course doctors dont want you to be in pain, but healing takes time, and all they can do is offer pain relief until your operation, or recovery!.
But yes it do seem like they dont care, but im sure they do really, perhaps a course in bedside-manners may helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi
the doctor would care but has to remain professional!. He can't start to make a big fuss about it only give pain relief!.
So don't expect them to use sympathy as they use empathy instead and it may seem harsh but if the doctor started crying with you or making a fuss of you then it wouldn't work either!.

I have had my share of uncaring doctors and it is rare to fine
a real caring one!.But they are out there!. Also it is the same
with nurse's some are really caring and some act very cold!.
Ask around for a good doctor and shop around until you find one that you are comfortable with!. And try to see your doctor
of choice during office hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Good that I know better:all my Dr's care if I am in pain and will do the up most to sooth the pain!.
