How does genetics and height work? I'm very confused.?!

Question: How does genetics and height work!? I'm very confused!.!?
My dad is 6 feet tall!. My mom is 5 feet tall!. I am 5'7"!.

Now I have friends who's parents are both under 5'5" feet tall but these friends are all around 5'10" and some are 6'1"

Since I'm 5'7" and If I reproduce with a girl who is around 5'5", does that mean we get shorter kids or does my dad's tall genes and my girls family genes come into play!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Genes can record back to 20 of your realitives plus, so the recessive gene is rare, but yes short parents do not always mean short kids!.

Genes just are used to judge the more obvious things; eye color, nose type, hair color, thos things, the ones that its more likely to happen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Genes dont necessarily have to be inherited from the parents!. It may have been inherited from their grandparents or great great grandparents and so on!. Ive forgotten the type/name of gene it is but its like a dormant gene that suddenly appears in you by chance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There's really no way to tell whose genes your kid will get!. It depends which height genes are dominant and which a recessive!.
Look at me, I have red hair and neither my parents or my grandparents have red hair! Genes can be pulled from wayyy back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
