Question: Does anyone know how long the side effects of haldol last!?
My grandpa got illegally dosed in a hospital, because it was 4 am and he had low blood sugar( a diabetic), and normally at home my grandma gets him something!. They dosed him 3 times within 6 hours, and he's so loopy!. Does anybody know how long for a 76 year old should last!.
As a diabetic myself, it's really strenuous when your shaking and need something, but to be dosed with haldol to calm him down, only made him loopy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow!. I am sorry that that happened to your grandfather!. You definitely need to get him checked out by another physician, Haldol should never be given to someone who is already in a confused state of mind, the fact that he's diabetic should have been noted in his chart and dealt with accordingly!. This just totally pisses me off hon!. Please bring this to the attention of the hospital administrator or to a patient care representative!.!.!.believe me the hospital needs to be held accountable for this repulsive mistake!. on my I worked in an assistant living home and that was only given to one person and only if she REALLY needed it!. that should only be given under severe circumstances!. does he have dementia!? usually it would last her the whole night and ware off by morning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
