Can we get some form of payment from Medicare for a nurse to come and help her o!

Question: Can we get some form of payment from Medicare for a nurse to come and help her out!?
Our mother has two insurance plans: Medicare and Southwestern!. She has bad arthritis and can hardly help herself around the apartment!. She should have someone come to her home and check on her, bathe her, and help with the shopping two or three times a week for several hours each time!. Would insurance (i!.e!. medicare) pay for something like this!? If insurance will not pay, are there other options, such as self-pay!? How much will it cost!?

Thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Medicare can pay for home health care, but unless she is in a skilled nursing facility, they don't pay for bathing or shopping!. Her doctor would have to order specific services for Medicare to pay the cost!.

You can look into home health aids that are independent and describe what services your mother requires and they will give you the rates for each service!.

Her other insurance carrier may cover some of these services, but you will need to call them to verify which services they will provide at what deductible!.

Hope this helps,

I would talk to her doctor because if either one of the insurance plans do cover something like that you will need a diagnosis from the doctor stating that she needs that kind of care!. You can also check with your area senior services center!. Some of them provide those services for free or on a sliding scale depending on your mother's financial situtation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not sure if her insurance will but there are services out there for this reason and they are not cheap for quality care!. You on the net, look it up!Www@Answer-Health@Com
