Answers:
Since 1953 the BCG was given in scotland to all high school kids around the age of 13 or 14 but it's only been in the last 2 or 3 years that they've changed it!.

The BCG is now given at birth and only to those which they identify as being at risk!.

The following is an excert from the British National Vaccination Schedule on who the BCG is now given to:

"Tuberculosis (BCG) for those with infected or previously infected family members; all babies living in UK areas where the incidence of TB is 40/100,000 or greater, babies whose parents or grandparents were born in a country with a TB prevalence of 40/100,000 or higher!. Immigrants from countries with a high prevalence of tuberculosis and their children and infants!."

So basically most people in that 14 year age gap will miss it completely (lucky sods, i still have a massive hole in my arm) unless they ever apply for a job which requires them to be vaccinated, e!.g!. healthcare!.

And yes the BCG was being given to high schoolers in the 1960s in Scotland!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I got my BCG in second year in high school, probably thirteen years old!. I still have the wee dot on my arm from the "jag"!. It's not the actual BCG that is the big thing, it's the test before it that causes the most pain/agony!!! No idea what was going on in the sixties, I got mine in the late seventies!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What is the BCG!?!. I am Scottish and have never heard of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
