When I joined the Army in the mid 50s, if you had flat feet, you failed the medical!. They do test for flat feet, but if you explain about the treatment you have had, it may change the result!. Hope you get through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry to hear of your concern, when I was in my teens I couldn't join the army because of an eyesight problem, I was gutted, but surely flat feet should be ok (considering theres a Royal Marine in Afghanistan with only one leg) - your treatment, which you should really declare wouldn't have been invasive, many soldiers have insoles for varying foot conditions, a local chiropodist I know does a load of business with the MOD!.
Just be open and honest about everything - if you are considered 'unsuitable' your damn suitable for many other careersWww@Answer-Health@Com

I dont necessarly have flat feet but my arcvhes have fallen in which stretch my feet muscles - the plantar facitus!. I have seens o muny doctors!. With your flat feet it maybe classed as foot abnormalities but I shouldnt worry about it!. I had mould impressions of my feet taken and inserts made to shape my feet - which goes inside the shoe!. Through research they say that the inserts are bad for you because where they are plastic it hurrts my feet and what is the point of having confortable shoes when you have that in them!. I have Dr Schole inserts that you can get from boots!. These are so much better and do the job at the same time!. I personally would assume that your treatment has been done at the hospital because there is not much they can do!. Obviously if the pain (if you get any) gets too much then I would contact them again!. All the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't understand all of your question, but coming from a family of "flat feet" I was told that one could not be accepted in certain forms of military if they had flat feet!. So, it must be classsified as a "medical condition"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
