If your urine is the color of cola (like root beer), then it's blood from either your kidney or bladder (could be a bladder infection that's progressed or it could be a hemangioma - collection of blood vessels, like a birthmark, on your kidney - that's burst!.!.!. usually resolves itself)!. In either case, a trip to a urologist is a good idea!. They'll take a urine sample (no biggie)!. You can also collect urine for them in a clean tupperware (refrigerate it until you get it to them)!. Be forewarned: if they deem it necessary to insert a camera into your urethra (like a catheter) to see your bladder or kidney, it'll be painful, but it'll help the doctor figure out the cause, so it' worth it (I heard they usually anesthetize men anyway!.!.!. guess it's a longer - and more painful - trip!)!. :)
If, however, it's bright red, you must've eaten beets! Seriously!. Bright red is usually not a problem!. It can also be caused by certain medications, but my docs said it's not blood!.

Your urine could have traces of blood (for females it could be your period)!. It can also be a infection, internal bleeding, kindey stones, or damage to the pipe (for males)!. Did you pop any viens!? Contact your doctor, and make sure you bring a urine sample just incase it disapears before your doctor can study it!. IF your sexually active it can ba a STD!. so bring a urine sample, and tell your doctor the truth, the straight truth, what ever you did!. Be carful and see a doctor friend!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You could have a serious infection and/or kidney stones!. If it is bright red I would get to a doctor as soon as possible as the red is blood and you need to be checked out!. There are some medications that will turn urine red!. You can pour some peroxide in your urine to see if it bubbles!. If it does, its blood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
