Question: Ways to swallow medicine!? (crushed)!?
Hi!-
My young sister has to swallow some medicine and it came in pill form but she was to afraid to swallow the pill so she wanted it crushed and put into applesauce!. Well, that just made it taste worse!. So my question is do you have ANY ways to swallow the crushed pill!? It has already been poured into applesauce so we can't transfer it into any other food for her!. She already tried to drink it through a straw but that didn't work!. Any ideas!?!? Thank you so much!

Please make sure you can crush the pills!. Some pills have a protective coating that controls the release of the drug!. If you cut them up, they can reach peak levels in your bloodstream too soon and that can be dangerous or make the drug not work! So before you cut up any more pills, ask the pharmacist, not the doctor!., the pharamcist!.
Sometimes cutting up the pills makes it taste worse!. Ask if the prescription comes in a liquid or chewable form!. Also, some medications can be bought in a sprinkle form, a capsule that you open and sprinkle little pieces into your applesause or pudding!. Otherwise, just try and swallow the medicine whole!. Take a gulp of water, pop the pill with water in your mouth, take another sip and swallow!. Learning how to swallow pills is a right of passage!. It is something she will have to learn to do eventually!. The pharmacy sometimes sells things like cups with a pill ledge to help you swallow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im almost 30 and i still cant swallow pills!.!.!.!.!.!.!. I use to crush them as when I was younger and only had to deal with tylonel but I soon found out that some medications cannot be crushed because some of them are time released and need to stay in form when swallowed!. sooooooooooooooo what i started to do was: eat food with it!. chew your food like you would normally and right before you swallow your food stuff the pill in and swallow it!. That is the only way I can swallow a pill!. Im sooo annoyed by it and its obviously a mental block but it helps that way!.!.!.!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
You need to check with the pharmacist the pill may not work or be dangerous if it is crushed why didn't the doctor give you a liquid
Have her hold the glass of whatever she is drinking to swallow the pill and someone else put the pill in her month and swallow fast this has worked for my childrenWww@Answer-Health@Com
