Am I inhaling cigarette smoke?!
Question: Am I inhaling cigarette smoke!?
We live in an apartment and my mother smokes, but everytime she smokes, she does it outside with all the windows shut and I don't smell it at all!. Although, when she comes in, I smell it all over her!. When she comes in and walks past me, I smell it a lot and I smell it on her clothes/breath!. I even would go into a room where she walked in and I'll smell it bad!. She says I'm not inhaling it because the cigarette and fumes are outside/long gone and I'm just smelling the odor on her!. She also says I have a keen sense of smell because I complained of smelling smoke when she was holding a 'butt' in her hand a few feet away from me!. I'm an opera singer and it's very important to me that I keep my 3!.2 octave range and clear tone!. My mom thinks I'm over reacting a lot like I do with everything and tells me there's no way it has an effect on me!. What do everyone think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well you are not taking in any fumes but your mother is right!. You are getting a wiff of the oder which stays for long periods of time!. As for whethersomething in the odor can be harmful, i am not sure of!. But if you are concerned that it may be harming you go see a doctor and make sure that your vocal chords are uneffected!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I know your Mom is blowing smoke, even after she has snuffed the cigarette butt!. She still has smoke in her lungs and when she exhales she is blowing it out although it may not be visible!.
My husband smokes and does the very same thing!. I've told him to stay out on the deck until he gets all the smoke out of his lungs!. What is there about smoking that makes them think everyone wants to smell that nasty smell of burning leaves!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
