I was at the park with my friends!.!. I'm 15!. I got stung by a mosquito about 2-3 cm below my calf!. I know it was a mosquito because i saw it and it flew away!. Now, the mosquito bite has swollen and as far as my ankle and up to the lower part of my calf!. It is VERY itchy wherever it is swollen and I do not know why this happens!. I've been bit by mosquitoes countless times!. It happens a lot, more than normal!. And sometimes they swell a lot like this!. WHy does this happen!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are not the only one with these symptoms!.Everyone has them after a mosquito bite!.The size of the swelling depends on the species of the mosquito i believe!.
After the mosquito bites you it injects its saliva to prevent blood clotting and that causes your body to produce a large amount of histamine which causes your blood vessels to dilate and your skin around the bite to swell!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try applying hydrocortisone cream to it several times a day and take 25 mg of benadryl (diphenhydramine) a couple times a day for two days!. This will help the itch and inflammation!. Remember with Benadryl, it may make you sleepy so be careful!. If it starts to look infected, see a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's probably one of those west nile mosquitoes!. Their bite seems to create more of an allergic reaction than the average mosquito!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
