How are you feeling off the medication, only you know if you need them or not!. I can't live without mine and I know that!. It's just a fear sometimes it's best to face them then run away, it will make you feel better to stand up to your fears and gain something from it!. If you are really scared which it sounds like you are, give the gp a call and tell them you need a new perscription could they send it out in the post, as you are not well at the moment and have no way of picking it up!. If they say no it may be worth disscussing your fears with your doctor over the phone, they can't hurt you over the phone, I would also think that if you are going in for a perscription you are pretty safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't take it if you dont need it!. Drugs are not a good thing to be dependent on!. You need to develop ways in life of coping and dealing with problems, your fears, emotions, etc!. You should only take medication if you absolutely have to (because of anxiety or depression)!. In my opinion it should only be prescribed for a limited time period and the patient should do everything possible to get off it in the future and deal with life on life's terms!. Certaintly counseling is good or even group therapy!. But developing habits in life that improve yourself, good relationships, hobbies, activities, exercise, good diet, career, love life, etc!. All these things contribute greatly to the way you feel and how you deal or respond to them and circumstances in your life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Honestly, force yourself to get to a psychiatrist and get a good social worker or counselor, along with prayer!. Tell the shrink you want off Prozac now, really now!. Most will get you off and put you on a better drug!. When a person has your symptoms, any doctor will take you off!. Prozac is deadly!. If your doctor won't take you off, get to another now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This fear seems to be all consuming, which in itself is a problem!. You might need to be on another type of medication than prozac!. But do not medicate yourself!. Or stop your medications!. That can trigger a full psychotic episode,!. you are too unsure to know what to do, get a friend or family member to help you find the answers!. Dont be afraid of the docs, they are probably more afraid of you!.

hang in there, and good luck, i mean it!.

No, you shouldn't stop any medication like Prozac all of a sudden!. You need to be weaned off of it or else you can have some horrible rebound effects!. You should get therapy for your doctor phobia or else you could miss some really severe diagnosis later in life unless you correct it now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have been taking it for several years and stopped taking it!. I didn't think I could tell any difference except for the nightmares!. But my wife could tell a difference so I started back!. I have had three Drs!. tell me to never stop taking it!. That reminds me I have got to take it!. thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

do not just STOP taking it !.!.!. you need to be weened off of it or the withdrawal effects will be brutal !

find SOMEONE to talk to, a fear of doctors is unhealthy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Keep on going, and just try and ignore the fear as its irrational, theres no reason to stop taking it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to your pharmacist!. I don't think you should never just stop taking Prozac!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
