Can you help me diagnose my swollen glands problem?!

Question: Can you help me diagnose my swollen glands problem!?
2 weeks ago i woke up with swollen glands, it hurt on one side when i swallowed and i noticed a few white/yellow spots on my tonsils!. I thought i had tonsillitis!.

After about 5 days it stopped hurting when i swallowed and some of the spots disappeared but i still have swollen glands and 2 spots on my tonsils!. I went to the doctors around this time and he told me that i wouldn't need antibiotics because it appeared to be going by itself!. But it's now a week later and i still have the swollen glands and 2 spots on my tonsils!.

Could my doctor be wrong and should i go back to the doctors again or could it not even be tonsillitis!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The short answer is Yes - your doctor could be wrong!. Go seek out a second opinion, and tell the new doctor that you were told you had tonsilitis, but were not treated because it appeared to be getting better on its own!.

If your first doctor is wrong, your swollen glands could be signalling that there is some more serious, systemic infection present in your system!.

These days, a patient cannot simply take a doctor's word for it!. Although you don't want to be a hypochondriac, complaining about every little ache and pain, you are the best judge of whether or not a treatment (or non-treatment) in this case is alleviating your symptoms and leading to a completel recovery!. If symptoms linger, whether you're being treated or not, you must advocate for your own care - be more forceful in describing your symptoms and discomfort level, and if you aren't satisfied that your doctor is hearing you, ask to see a different doctor!. Don't worry about pizzing that doctor off or hurting his or her feelings - if s/he is not taking your complaint seriously enough to satisfy you, then you have to take the matter into your own hands!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

glands get swollen whenever your glands know that you are sick so they produce extra of whatever it is that they are meant to produce!. After you are sick your glands will still have too much of what they produce so until they use all of that chemical then they are swollen!. You should wait longer, if your glands are swollen a month after you are sick then you should go back to the doctor because it might have formed a cyst!. Until then theres nothing you can do except take tylenol and relaxWww@Answer-Health@Com

personally i'd go back to the doctors and explain it to them again!. If it was going to go by itself it should have settled by now!. The only other thing with similar symptoms is mumps but you'd have a very high fever and nausea with that and i would expect that if it was that, a doctor would have noticed straight away!. Go back and see your doctor again and if youre still not happy ask for a second opinion!. Tonsilitis is not fun!. In the meantime try and get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluid and eating ice cream helps sooth swollen glands!.

All the best and get well soon
