Answers:
Well seeing as the doctor said you're iron deficient this probably means that you were diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia!? This would be from too little haemoglobin (the chemical which carries oxygen in your red blood cells) due to it requiring iron!. If so, if you take a good iron supplement you should see an increase in your haemoglobin in your blood of around about 1g/dl a week as a rule of thumb!. So it depends how deficient you are!.

I don't know if you have lab results readily available but an 13!.5 to 16!.5 g/dl is a good reference range for men!. 12!.1 to 15!.1 g/dl for women!.

It is important to make sure the supplements are working so re-testing of your haemoglobin or checking up on your 'new' red cell count (or reticulocyte count) should verify that the iron is working!. So long as it is you should continue iron supplements for a few months after you return to normal to saturate your iron storage in the body!.

Hope this helps a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
