Coverage of Pre-existing condition?!

Question: Coverage of Pre-existing condition!?
Are pre-existing conditions usually covered after a certain period of time!? I've heard some conflicting answers about this, and I don't want to alert my new insurance company by asking!.

Some people have told me that the insurance company can only refuse to cover pre-existing conditions for twelve months!. After 12 months of coverage, law requires the company to cover the condition!.

Other people have told me that if I have had coverage by ANY provider for the last twelve months, coverage cannot be denied according to HIPPA!.

I've had Medicare coverage for the last three years, so would that mean my new insurance company must waive the preexisting condition exclusion of coverage!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is definitely depending on what company you have and whether it is private or through your employer!. Also, it will depend on if it is a plan like AFLAC that pays disability and things such as this!. Regardless, however, ALL insurance carriers have to give you a copy of your policy contract up front and in the policy contract it will specifically state how they will cover a pre-existing condition!. This could be a way for you to find out without alerting the company!. Just call and ask them for a copy of your policy contract or benefits booklet!. I have never seen one that did not specifically cover the subject! GOOD LUCK!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have private health insurance and you have a pre-existing condition then your insurance company should already know about it!. Meaning that they were aware and they still offered you coverage!. I had Aetna and they were aware of my pre-existing condition and they paid my doctor bills right off the bat!. Now if you're covered under a group plan (through your employer) they can't deny you anything because of a pre-existing condition!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

your email is private so I have to tell you this way!. What you said to the girl about the world trade center is really inappropriate!. Along with many others, the topic is still a sore spot for me, especially living so near and knowing so many who lost their lives and family members!. Only a real jerk would suggest such a sick disgusting thing!. I think you are the scum of the earth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Also depends on state you live in!. In NYS if you had insurancce & get new insurance within 60 days thy cannot deny your pre-existing conditions!.

Google: insurance denial of preexisting conditions (& your state)

HIPAA states you can get a copy from them of who has requested your records!.

Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
