Im assuming you mean Topamax!. I am currently taking it and am relatively new to it!. I take it for migraine prevention (I literally had them every single day, constant, with no relief) It took about 2-3 weeks for my to have any effects, but part of that was due to the increasing dose my dr had me on!. I took 25 mg a day the first week, 50 mg the second week, 75 the 3rd week which is when I started noticing a difference, & then when I hit the 100 mg a day in the 4th week, my migraines were gone!. I get them once & a great while now!. its amazing!. I have had some of the side effects mentioned in the handouts(soda tastes aweful, tingling in my hands & feet sparatically, occasional loss of appetite, & weight loss (not much yet, but hey, thats great!) But I would gladly take those side effects over those migraines any day!. I hope this helped you!. If you're new to it, stick with it!. Talk to your dr!. before comming off it!. topomax is most comonly prescribed for seizures!. It does have alot of other uses though!. It can also help control migraines!. If you would give some more info, i might be able to narrow things down for you!. Depending on why you are taking it, or what the dosing is, will make its effectiveness varie!. A dose can range between 25mg and 200 mg!.
Fortunatly, if you have any adverse effects to this medicine, they should apear fairly quickly!. These can include weight loss, dizziness, memory loss, diarreah, mood problems, ect!.
Contact your 24 hour pharmacy, and ask to speak with a pharmasist!. They can give you way more on the specs!.
