Ouchies ouchies ouchies!.

I feel for you, and I know what it's like - I've had the same thing happen with second ear piercings twice, despite taking care of them really well AND being careful!.!.!. it just wasn't meant to be, I guess!.

If your infection lasts longer than a week, please go to do the doctor!. Infections can cause much bigger problems if not taken care of properly!.

If it gets bad enough that you can't stand it, take the ring out and just let it do what it needs to do and accept the fact that it's not meant to be - it's a lot better than getting really sick from something that's just a decoration!.

Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You really muxt go to the doctors with that!. Yes you may have to remove it and let it heal that way with antibiotics from your doctor, it is rubbish that you mustn't remove a ring that is causing such a sever infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take the ring out if it's infected !. It will not heal while the ring is in and you'll end up with a huge scar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A picture won't really help, because not all infections work the same way, or even look the same!. Your piercing, I'm sure, was slightly red when you got it, but has the reddening around the hole gotten worse!? Yellow "crusties" are normal, but is there a large amount of green/white pus coming out!? A little blood is ALSO normal!.!.!. but not GUSHING blood!.

DO NOT USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE OR IODINE!. They are both far too strong! Please remind your mom that this isn't a small cut, this is a deep puncture wound that your body not only has to heal, but you aren't born with piercings!. Your body is naturally going to try to reject it anyway!.!.!. and using iodine, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol!.!.!. basically anything HARSH will PROLONG the healing process and dry out your piercing, causing it to reject! This could be part of the reason you're experiencing problems!.

My best advice is!.!.!. Continue the warm compresses and sea salts only!. If you really are having pain with it, BACTINE is very gentle when it comes to cleaning cuts unlike peroxide or alcohol!.!.!. so pick up a small spray bottle of it and use that when your piercing is especially irritated!. After you stop using the abrasive cleaners, remember not to change the ring!. It's not healed yet!.

If three more weeks go by and the condition hasn't improved, go see your doctor!. Or if you don't have insurance, just stop by the clinic!. It's better safe than sorry!.!.!. and even if it is infected, they can probably get you on some antibiotics and save your piercing so it wasn't time and money wasted! :)

Good luck!

EDIT: Yikes!.!.!. I didn't look at the picture last time!.!.!. Go to the doctor!. Immediately!. That is definitely severely infected!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
