What should you not wear in an MRI machine?!

Question: What should you not wear in an MRI machine!?
I'm going in on Tuesday (july15th) to get an MRI of my brain!. I'm aware that you shouldn't wear jewelry or things like that (I'm not planning on wearing jeans either as they have metal buttons and such) and I've recently learned that you shouldn't wear underwire bras!. But what about the metal clasps on the bra!? And on one of the sites that I stumbled upon it said not to wear eyeshadow with glitter in it!. Is that true!? And could my braces have any ill effect on the MRI!?

Thanks so much for your help, it's very appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
If you want to be sure that your MRI technologist will allow you to keep your street cloths on, and not make you change into a gown, make sure you are wearing NO metal!.!.!.!.!.!.including your bra!. If you have a sports bra with no clasps etc, wear that!. If not, you might ask your technologist if you can just slip your bra off and leave your shirt on, rather than don a gown!. Most MRI scan rooms are kept rather cold, so your street clothes will keep you warmer than a gown!.!.!.!.not to mention, help you keep your modesty!. By the way, I work on an Open MRI, and I allow my patients to wear their jeans, bras (even underwired bras) etc for a brain MRI!. The metal is far enough from the head that it does not cause a problem!.

I have never had to ask a patient to remove eye make up before a MRI!. So, that I cannot really comment on!.

You can have a MRI if you have braces!. There is no danger to you or the MRI unit!. If you have removable dental appliances (such as bridges or retainers), we ask you to remove those!. If the dental work is permanent, we don't worry about it!. Braces can cause an artifact on the images!.!.!.!.which means it can distort the images, especially the area nearest your teeth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
