What is Hyperhidrosis!?

Hyperhidrosis affects at least one to two percent of all Americans!. In order to regulate body temperature naturally our bodies perspires!. In some individuals, this natural process of perspiration is more then normal on the face and hands!. This excessive perspiration is known as Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the hands, feet and other parts of the body)!. Hyperhidrosis is a condition in which the sympathetic nervous system does not shuts off the sweat reflex properly!.
Usually this condition (hyperhidroses) affects the face, the armpits and the palms!. It may however affect any one or all of these areas and in some sufferers extends to the back, thighs and feet!. In rare cases the whole body gets affected!.

Hyper hydrosis is not dangerous in any way to the health!. Although this type of profuse sweating doesn't has any life-threatening consequences but it can be extremely discomforting and therefore can interfere with a person's normal daily life!.

Causes of Hyperhidrosis:

The precise causes behind hyperhidroses is not yet known!. There are many sweat glands spread all over the body!. Said to be about 700 glands per square centimeter on the palms alone!. The quantity of sweat produced by the body is controlled by the brain (the hypothalamus) via the sympathetic nervous system!. Over activity of the hypothalamus or some other factors could result in the development of hyperhidroses !.

Hyperhidrosis can build a favorable environment for the growth of micro organisms such as virus, bacteria and fungus, which increases the chances for contracting infections such as athlete
