Answers:
It depends on the type of conditions that they were buried in!. A wet environment likely would speed the decomposition of the body!. A drier one wouldn't!.
So, if your dead body was buried in a wet area three years ago, chances are that the body would indeed stink upon exhumation and that there would be some tissue but mostly bones!.
The same body in a dry place would have more body tissue, possibly even partially mummified and if dried out, would smell less than the wet body!.
If the body wasn't embalmed at all, then it would decompose more quickly!. That, too, influences both the state and the smell!.
It would be more likely to be more fully decomposed in the wet area after three years without embalming!. Same is true for the drier place as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Considering that it has emboming fluid in it, formaldahyde, this preserves the body, so no it would not be bones, i believe that this preserving process protects the body for several years!. I would assume that there would be some sort of odor due to the deteriorating skin!.!.!.you would probably just mainly smell the formaldahyde!. This is why I don't want to be burried, cremated is much cleaner! Who wants a smelly old body lingering on earth!.!.!.!.lol, hope i could help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
