I have had many MRI's both open and closed (I have had a brain tumor) and being enclosed doesn't bother me at all!.
If you suffer from claustrophobia it is a serious problem!. They won't automatically offer a sedative, you need to let them know your situation and ask for it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No- but as a person who has several in the last 2 years- due to a viral brain infection- if it helps to save your life by finiding the problem- you'd do it

i'm crazy i guess then!. I've had many MRI's, and not for any of them did i feel scared or anything, but the constent noises it made were very anoying!.

LOL-I hear what you're saying! No I had to have a few, they gave me earplugs and put a fan blowing in on me!. The one where I could lay on my back was alright, I dozed off for a while!. I think they could hypnotize me in the darn thing though, once you adjust to the environment, it's really peaceful!.

No, that is why they can give you a sedative!. Now they even have open MRI scanners!. My mother is claustrophobic and she always has to be sedated before and MRI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
There are different styles of machines!.!.!.there are open MRI's now, and you can have someone in the room with you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
yep, i dislocated my knee-cap and last year they tried to put me in one but im very claustrophobic so instead i had to get key hole surgery:(Www@Answer-Health@Com
