I think it's pointless!. Why spend all that money on something that kills you in a horrible, drawn-out and painful manner (emphysema or lung cancer is no picnic) for something which doesn't even give you a proper high!? Not that I'm condoning hard drugs either - they're equally pointless and destructive - but smoking doesn't even give you the dubious "pleasure" of getting high (although I think needing to get high is weak and stupid too)!.

I think people are informed enough about the downfalls of smoking so if they choose to then its up to them!. I do get fed up of the hype surrounding smokers and whether or not the NHS should treat them, my point is that we as a country accept alcholism, the hooliganism that comes with drunk fuelled fights and yet we treat them and even give new livers and extra dole payments for their habit, what do the poor smokers get!? Banned thats what!.!.!.its wrong!.!.!.and no i dont smoke, but did have uncle who died of alcoholism and it wern`t pretty!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i used to smoke, and gave up when we started trying for a baby about 3 years ago or so, after the baby was born about 2 weeks or so after i started again, i have given up again, about november some time as we were trying for number 2, i have still stopped, and find myself pregnant, and am really hoping i can breastfeed, else i might just start again :S its nothing to do with being weak-minded either, i cant help enjoying a ciggie from time to time, but am hoping that this is it, i have stopped and thats that!.!.!.!.hope that wasnt too long an answer for youWww@Answer-Health@Com
I don't like smoking, it kills people's friends, families, daugthers, sons, etc!.!.!.It also pollutes the air that I breathe!! But on the plus side: its one less person in front of me at the Starbucks line!!! So if the smoker wants to kill themself, fine by me, just do it in a plastic bubble so that I dont have to breathe it in!Www@Answer-Health@Com
if you want to smoke you can!. i don't, but what other people do is not my concern!. i wouldn't go telling people they shouldn't smoke because their lungs and cancer and whatever!.
i don't like when people smoke near me cause yeah the smoke is annoying but banning smoking in public places is a little extreme!. places like malls and stuff are good but in places like bars!?

I don't understand why people STILL take it up, when everyone knows how bad it is for you!. We don't have any excuse nowadays!. When my parents started smoking (they've both given up now, though) no one really knew of the health risks!.

I'm glad in a way that it's been banned in public places, however banning it in pubs has meant the business has started going down and there are fewer people there!.
