Question: Is being a Nurse really as Stressful as everybody says!?
Does it take a toll on your life after seeing so many sick people!? Does it make you depress!? I also heard that a lot of Nurses quit after a while!. Is the hospital scary at night!? Do regular hospital nurses & doctors treat you different if you are a traveling nurse!? Does the good pay really mean anything after all you've put up with!? I'm thinking of being a nurse, but I'm really creative and I don't know how that's going to work!.

Oh boy!.!.!.I have been a nurse for many years!. Creativity is not a part of it!. I am into art, music, poetry, acting!.!.!.these things play a part if you can entertain your patients! Ha!. Right now, I'm in a position that's not too bad!. I work Monday-Friday no weekends no holidays no mandation!.!.!.that's the stressor!. When you want to go home and can't because there is no relief due to call outs, weather, etc!. Yes, in bad weather you are expected to show up!. You can make lots of money from overtime or becoming an APRN, advanced practice or nurse anesthetist!. Lots of school, lots of responsibility but 6 figure income!. Travel nursing works for my niece!. She loves it!. My cousin was in a different job--nurse training military hospital personnel on their computer programs!. She travelled all over with Unysis!. It was a great job but the contract ended!. So, there are a few of the pros and cons!. You decide!. Best of luck to you!. Go into a specialty!. I did hemodialysis for a few years!. High stress but I liked it at the time!. Sometimes it's sad when you lose patients!. It goes with the territory!. Yes, places like hospitals and nursing homes can be creepy at night!. I didn't work nights too often!. Some people really like it!. Hope that answered some of your questions!. I still get some satisfaction knowing I helped some people and improved the quality of their lives!. Nurses tend to not support one another when you need it most!.!.!.your peers will, your superiors may not!. With any job, there are politics!. my mom is a nurse, but she had problems with other things!. It doesnt really bother her to see so many sick ppl (really she comes home and warns us about diff things)!. HOWEVER, she did have not like the long hours and being called out in the middle of the night after her shift ended!. She was pretty unhappy with her job i at the hospital here, but she now works in a surgical center,and likes her job a lot more!. It really has to do with the person!.
