When we prescribe it in the ER we recommend that people continue to take the Chantix for 2-3 months!. When you stop taking it after that is really up to you, do you feel ready to "go it alone"!?!? You may talk with your doctor about slowly decreasing the dose to wean you off the Chantix, kinda reverse of how you slowly increased dosing when you started the medication!. Congratulations on your success!. Everyone I have spoken with seems to be able to kick the habit for good with this medication!. Have had very few return to smoking after stopping it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My hubby just started taking it Tus!. and hopes to start cutting down and quit about next Tus!. He has tired several other things like the patch and Welbutrin (same as Zyban but cheaper)!. But could you answer me a question!? Did you ever get spells to where you feel you are going to pass out!? He had 2 yesterday, one at work and one in the shower and I was able to take his blood pressure after the one in the shower and it was up a little!. His blood pressure runs in the normal range!. I hope he can quit on this because he has mild COPD and we all could breath a little easier without the smoke!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My mom was a smoker for almost 40 years!. After her second heart attack and a heart valve operation, she decided she needed to quit!. She took Champix and has sucessfully quit smoking for 6 months now!. Nothing else worked for her!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
