Best remedy to get rid of a cold!

Question: Best remedy to get rid of a cold
So I have the basic sore throat, sneezing, stuffy nose ick! I realize you have let it run it course, but I'd like to shorten it if at all possible!. I'm currently taking vitamin C, and drinking lots of water!. I don't agree with "starve a cold, unless you can convince me otherwise!. Also, wondered about working out, if it helps boost the immune system or if rest if the best possible solution!.
Thanks

Drink lots of fluids, NOT SODA! Juice, water, tea!. Stay well rested make sure you are getting enough sleep every night, maybe take a nap during the day!. Acetaminophen or Tylenol is a fever reducer and pain reliever!. Use that to help with any spiking temperatures!. Make sure you eat whole healthy foods!. No junk food, or fast food!. Take medicine for a cough if you have one!. A good medicine to take over the counter is Day Quil (during the day obviously) and Night Quil at night!. They work really really well!. The equate brand is just as good too!.

Also make sure you have tissues or something to sneeze or cough in!. Seeing as how a cold is a droplet transition you can give it to anyone!. The range is about 3 feet!. So if you sneeze in someones face that is 3 feet or closer chances are they will get it too!. Even if they are further dont take the chance!. Use a tissue!.

I would also get some hand sanitizer for after you cough and sneeze to kill any germs!. And wash your hands frequently!.

Just take care of yourself and you should be over it in a couple of days!. :)

If you treat a cold - with chicken soup, juice, water, over-the-counter medications - it goes away in about a week and a half!.

If you don't treat a cold, it goes away in about 10 days!.

Hot chicken soup feels good and it helps replenish your electrolytes as well as keep you hydrated!. Juice, water - all hydration!. Over-the-counter medications don't get rid of the cold at all - there aren't any medications yet that kill the 200+ viruses that cause a cold!. OTC meds just make the symptoms bearable!.

If you're otherwise healthy, your body will ramp up and start fighting the viral infection!. There really isn't anything you can do to increase your body's immune response!. Depending on which exact virus is causing your symptoms, your body may get rid of it in 2 or 3 days, or it may take a week to a week and a half (or 7 to 10 days) to clear the virus and get rid of the symptoms!.

Stay hydrated, that's the main thing!. Your body goes through a lot of fluids when you have a cold!. Using a humidifier or standing in a hot shower may help!. The nasal saline sprays are definitely worth a try!.

Chicken soup, orange juice, water!. Can't stress those 3 enough!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I get a cold I use saline nasal spray 3-4 times a day to flush out my nasal passages!. I read somewhere that the cold virus enters the body through the nasal passages and during the course of a cold you keep reinfecting yourself!. By flushing with the saline it seems to shorten the duration of the cold!. I have actually had times when I felt a cold coming on, that itchy, burny feeling in the back of the throat, and used the saline nasal spray and thwarted the cold all together!. don't workout when you're sick! it will only boost your immune system when you are healthy - it will weaken it if you are sick because your body is trying hard to get itself back to homeostasis and you're pushing it too hard!. increase fluids and rest a lot! other than that, only over the counter medications can help you such as fever reducers (ibuprofen) and cold medicine (robitussin)!. they usually last anywhere from 3 days to two weeks!.
