Answers:
You can inherit the "alcoholic" gene so you shoud be careful! Especially since you have already had liver problems!.

If you can't stop drinking on your own, go get help!. Go to an AA (Alcoholics Annonymous) meeting, or go to a doctor and ask for help!

I have a friend who is an alcoholic!. She has been drinking for years! In and out of institutions and she has made it 2 years without a drink! It's a long hard road and it takes will power but you can do it!

Good luck! I hope you stop for your own health! I've seen some really bad livers from alcoholics!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Alcoholism is not something you have inherited from your grandpa; what you did at an early age was emulating a behavior on him you thought as fun!. Then, when you grew up you proceeded to "imitate" your granddad by drinking as a way of having fun!.
I would recommend you to attend AA meetings, because you are already an alcoholic!. Is very important though that you are aware that been an alcoholic is not good for you, so, I think you will be Ok, if you decide to do something about it!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok your friend that said that is just trying to shirk responsibility for his decisions!. You don't have to do that!. Obviously if you know alcoholism has been a problem in your family, you should start avoiding alcohol!. A doctor has already told you it was affecting your health!. That was not enough for you to stop!? If necessary check into a rehab facility to help you learn ways to deal with your emotions besides turning to alcohol!. I'm sure your grandad regrets living his life in a boozey haze!. Think about what he would say to you about the path you are choosing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, it is highly possible - things like that run in the family!. Don't put yourself at risk and stop while you still have enough will power to without intervention!. It does mean though that you probably won't be able to touch the stuff ever!.!.!. :( The risk is too high!. I dont know how it works but if you can learn to control it now then maybe there is no harm in having one or two on special occations!.!.!. Good luck buddy!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

alchoholism is not inherited!. all you have to do is stop!. you know you are afraid to end up like him!. you know it makes you feel like crap and only gets you more depressed!. you also know what to do!. stop drinking so much!. set yourself a limit and then switch to coke for the rest of the night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, you know you are !. !.!. You need to try to get into some treatment facility or AA and you need to never drink!. Never!. One drink will always lead to too much drink !. !.!. this does run in families!. You have to learn to deal with emotions and not drink them away!. However, you are going to have to want this for you and your life!. No one can force you to change, and change is hard!.

I wish you the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No ones life is a book, therefore your life hasn't been written yet!. You control your future, so the more you think about your granddad the more you should be able to control yourself, as it will motivate you to stopWww@Answer-Health@Com

Being a alcoholic is a choice!!! My family is full of them but I make the choice to not drink!. Not to be rude or anything but you are making your mind up that your going to use that as a excuse!. Good luck to you an becareful!!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are convincing yourelf that you are turning like your grandad!.

Since you have realised this is a mistake, now think of sorting yourself out or try getting help from family, friends and GP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

destiny is already written, but that doesn't mean ya going to be like grandad!. You control your own destinty, but only God knows what that is at this point in time!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just try to stop!. You can have fun without drinking:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used to had drinking problem too!.!.!.!.!.alcohol poisoning and all other crap!.!.!.
My grandpa was alcoholic too!.!.!.!.
One day I woke up and said that's it - it's time to stop!.!.!.(I was 17 years old, now I am 28)!.!.!.since then I had better and worst times (I started drinking again in age 23 and stopped 3 months later)!.!.!.since then I don't drink at all (ok once a years glass a wine)!.!.!.!.
Did you try go to AA meetings!?
Most of the problem is in your head! You said that you always were afraid to be like you grandma, and now it happening!
Believe in yourself! Say that you are better than she!
There is good book Joseph Murphy 'the power of your subconscious mind'!. I think you should read this book (yea it's kind of boring to read but when you start and keep reading you will find answers)!.!.!.
Try read this - it wont hurt but it can help:)
Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
