Question: Question about drug testing for enployment!?
I applied for a job that does drug testing!. I don't do drugs but I do take medication prescribed by my Dr!. What exactly shows up on those tests and do I just tell them before hand that I take prescribed medication!? I don't really want to give out too information if I don't have to!. Answers:
You don't really have to disclose anything like Anti-depressants, and the like!.
What they generally do is a broad screen for:

Benzodiazepenes, (Valium, Clonazepam, Lorazepam) Opiates (Heroin, codeine, etc!.) Cocaine, Crystal Meth, marijuana and the like!.
If you're taking a prescribed Benzodiazepene such as Valium for nerves, anxiety - all that will show up are the levels!. They will just look to see if you abuse them, as they are a narcotic!. If you're prescribed them, then yes - I would tell them (your employer) up front and explain why!. Thousands of people take them!. Again, as long as you're not abusing them, and the levels show up as "therapeutic" you'll be fine!. Legally there's nothing they can do, or should be able to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
