General Anesthesia today is extremely safe!. Depending on what the dentist uses you may remember actually going out or you may not!. It is different for everyone!. You didn't say how old you are, so I am assuming that you are fairly young - it is very important for you to discuss your fears and concerns with your dentist or oral surgeon, whomever is going to do the extraction and have them tell you exactly what they plan to use and how they will administer it - there are several different methods and you may have a choice!. They need to know that you are scared about it and have never been put under before!.

Generally you will feel lightheaded and maybe a little dizzy (everyone reacts differently) and then you are out!. It usually happens very quickly and you can ask for someone to hold your hand for reassurance if you want!. They want you to feel very safe and comfortable!. When you come out of the anesthesia you usually wake up gradually like coming out of a really deep sleep!. You will feel a little groggy, and still a little light headed!. Sometimes they give you oxygen to counteract the effects of the anesthesia!. Obviously you will need someone to either go with you or to come get you as you will not be able to drive yourself!. For the first 24 hours following the anesthesia you may find that you sleep a lot which is actually a good thing as it helps your body to heal!. You should be OK by the next day!. For anything that is considered a "same day" procedure, they use a short-term, fast acting anesthesia!.

But DO talk to the doctor who is going to do your extraction, it is really important that you are not scared!. And as your other answerer said, you will be fine!. Good Luck!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Haha so many dentist experiences 14/15 times it worked perfectly!.its like you have a day where you run 30 miles non stop EXCEPT!.!.!. There's none of the pain with legs and other stuff!.they put this mask on and they put like strawberry stuff in it so it smells all good!.(might not for you my dentists are just really nice)it's just like your all of a sudden really tired!.and its just like falling asleep at night!.then you wake up like the morning!. but your not as tired you just get up!. then your done! hope i helped!. OH and bye the way you'll remember falling asleep and where you are and everything!.Its really nothing to be afraid of!.My first time the only thing i was afraid of was not sleeping but it's pretty much impossible to stay awake!. so don't worry you'll be fine

um well first people/ doctors try talking to you then you just start feeling woozy/tired then you just wake up in a couple of hours but it depends on what they do to you
for example i don't think it'll take a really long time on anesthesia when they take out your wisdom teeth
i don't think they should put u to sleep, when i went to the dentist i had to get a tooth pulled down a little bit they put me on moderate anesthesia i could see the doctor and what they do to me - i also didn't feel a thing i just felt my mouth numbWww@Answer-Health@Com

Once they put the anesthetic in you feel wide awake one minute then next thing is you are waking up again and it's all over!.
You won't need to be out of long to have teeth pulled so you will probably only feel a little strange when you wake up but will come ok quite quickly!.
Some people are sick after anesthetic, but this is normally after bigger ops!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no you'll be fine!. when they put u under they have a little bottle like thing they put over your mouth and nose and you breathe it in!. you will know what happened after you breathed it in until you wake up!. when you wake up you won't remember anything after you breathed the stuff in!. its definately something you will remember though!. i remember being put under and then waking up when i was around 2 or 3!. when you wake up you might be drowsy because i remember i was!. but then again that was for an eye surgery 10-11 years agoWww@Answer-Health@Com
